After teasing a possible Thelma & Louise musical for the last decade, Neko Case has confirmed that it will finally debut this year.

Based on the 1991 hit comedy-drama film that starred Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis, the musical will run Sept. 23-Oct. 24 at the Young Vic Theater in London.

"Well, it's been ten years and a great deal of work, but the musical FINALLY has a run of dates that are open to the public coming up in London!" the singer-songwriter wrote on her Substack on Thursday (April 16). "I will be in London most of the summer helping put on the finishing touches and rehearsing. I am so proud of everyone and I hope you will join us if you can!"

She also showed off the official show's poster artwork, which the indie rocker will be providing music and lyrics for.

The original movie starred Davis and Sarandon as two friends who encounter unforeseen circumstances on a road trip together.

"It's the most famous road-movie and female friendship movie of all time," Nadia Fall, the Young Vic's CEO and artistic director, told Deadline on Thursday.

The Grammy-nominated musician, who is also a member of Canadian indie rock group the New Pornographers, opened up last year about how she originally got involved with the project.

"When Callie [Khouri, the original screenplay writer] called me to do this, I was like, 'Callie, I don't know anything about musicals,'" she joked to Stereogum. "And she was like, 'Nope, that's the reason I want you to do it.' And I was like, 'Okay, but I'll probably need lots of help.' So all these years later, I haven't had to bend myself too hard."

Tickets go on sale April 23 on the venue's website.
