Korn went on a massive 30th anniversary tour last year but as fans may have noticed, founding member Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu was not present. The bassist stepped away from touring in 2021, citing a lapse into "bad habits" as one of the reasons, and in a recent interview with the Basement Talk podcast, he revealed that he hasn't talked to his bandmates since 2019.
“I haven’t talked to those guys since 2019,” he admitted. “So it’s like we’re just kind of both…. They’re truckin’. They’re a machine. They’re going. It’s insane. It’s dope that they can keep on going like that.”
But don't worry, there's no bad blood between the members. Fieldy's just not ready to return yet. “It’s cool to see them keep on going," he remarked. "I’m, like, I need to chill. I’m just kickin’ it.”
In 2022, the bassist explained what he meant about bad habits, ensuring that he didn't mean drugs. “When I made the statement about my ‘bad habits,’ they weren’t drugs," he wrote on social media at the time. "It’s just, at the end of the day — I don’t condone this — but when I’m done with all my responsibilities, I have a Bud Light, or as many as I want, to tell you the truth.”
Korn released their last album, Requiem, in 2022, which features Fieldy on Bass. Ra Diaz from Suicidal Tendencies has taken his place in the touring lineup. Watch the full interview below.
