Ten Students Shot By 'BB Or Pellet Gun' Outside Georgia School

Authorities in Georgia are looking for a suspect who opened fire on an elementary school playground using a BB or pellet gun. Ten students at Wynbrooke Elementary School were injured in the attack and had to be taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Eleven-year-old Caleb Edmonson told WSAV that he was eating lunch in the cafeteria when he began to hear reports of an active shooter at the school.

"The teacher that was in there, he was asking the janitors to lock the doors, and then he was trying to close the blinds, and couple minutes later we saw ambulance, police officers coming in and running down our hallways," Caleb said.

School officials say that the shots "appear to have come from a position away from the school grounds," and that there was never a threat of the suspect entering the school building. The district says there will an increased police presence at the school as a precaution.

Officials decided not to release any details about their investigation to the public because they are worried it could impact their search for the suspect.
