Runaway Mail Truck Kills Postal Worker

A mail carrier was killed after she was run over by her own mail truck while delivering mail in Michigan. 56-year-old Tracy Sylo was delivering a package to a home in Washtenaw County's Lyndon Township, which is around 45 miles west of Detroit when the truck started rolling down the driveway. Sylo became pinned between a metal guardrail and her truck. Police said that Sylo was dead when they arrived at the scene. Authorities are unsure how the accident happened. Chelsea Area Fire Chief Robert Arbini said that investigators did not know "if it rolled or maybe it was in neutral or if the parking brake went out."

"We don't know if it rolled or maybe it was in neutral or if the parking brake went out," Arbini said of the truck Wednesday. "We have no idea how the person got wedged between this particular vehicle and the handrail."
